Hastelloy C-276, a nickel-molybdenum-chromium high-temperature alloy, is a premium corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) designed specifically for the corrosion challenges of harsh environments.
Broad Media Compatibility: Excellent resistance to a wide range of acids, salts, solvents, and halides.
Key Corrosion Resistance Media:
Wet chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide: Excellent performance in pulp bleaching and wastewater treatment.
Sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid: Especially moderately concentrated sulfuric acid containing impurities, as well as hydrochloric acid under reducing conditions.
Phosphoric acid: In processes containing impurities (such as fluorides and chlorides).
Organic acids (formic acid, acetic acid, etc.): Maintains excellent corrosion resistance even at high temperatures and high concentrations.
Strongly Oxidizing Salts (FeCl₃, CuCl₂): Provides excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
Seawater and Brine: Excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and erosion corrosion.
Mixed Acid Environments: Complex systems such as sulfuric acid-hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid-hydrofluoric acid.
Excellent Resistance to Localized Corrosion: An extremely low pitting equivalent number (PREN) provides excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments (such as seawater and chemical processes).
Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking: Outperforms many stainless steels and other nickel-based alloys in chloride and caustic (NaOH) environments.
A proven, extremely reliable corrosion-resistant alloy, Hastelloy C-276 sets the industry benchmark for withstanding the most severe corrosive environments, particularly those involving complex mixtures of oxidizing agents, reducing agents, halide ions, and hot concentrated acids. Its exceptional durability, long service life, and low maintenance requirements make it a cost-effective material choice for demanding, critical industrial applications.
