N06625 (commonly known by commercial name Inconel 625) is an excellent nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium solid solution strengthened superalloy. Its core feature lies in:
1. Excellent corrosion resistance: It performs well in both oxidizing and reducing environments, effectively resisting pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, chloride stress corrosion cracking, and erosion by various acid, alkali, and salt solutions. It is particularly adept at dealing with seawater and high-temperature flue gas environments.
2. Outstanding high-temperature performance: It maintains high strength, excellent creep resistance and oxidation resistance within a high-temperature range from low temperatures to approximately 980°C, with good high-temperature stability.
3. High strength and toughness: High strength is achieved through the solid solution strengthening of molybdenum and niobium, while maintaining good ductility and toughness. Cold working can significantly enhance its strength.
4. Good processability and weldability: It can be processed and welded by conventional methods. After welding, it usually does not require heat treatment to maintain corrosion resistance (but attention should be paid to the tendency of work hardening).
Main application fields
Aerospace (engine components, conduits)
Marine engineering (Seawater systems, thrusters, fasteners)
Chemical and Petrochemical Processing (Reactors, heat exchangers, Pipelines, Valves)
Nuclear power (nuclear fuel rod cladding, heat exchanger)
Pollution control equipment (flue gas desulfurization system)
In conclusion, N06625/Inconel 625, with its all-round corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance and high strength, has become one of the preferred materials for critical components in extremely harsh environments, especially in Marine and chemical industries.
