N08825 (Incoloy 825) is a high-performance nickel-iron-chromium alloy with added molybdenum and copper. It is often designed for corrosion resistance against strong reducing and oxidizing acids. It offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and performs exceptionally well in chloride-containing environments.
Reducing Acids: Excellent resistance to sulfuric and phosphoric acids (due to the copper addition).
Oxidizing Acids: Good resistance to nitric acid (due to the chromium and nickel).
Pitting and Crevice Corrosion Resistance: Its molybdenum and chromium content provide excellent performance in chloride-containing environments.
Stress Corrosion Cracking Resistance: Its high nickel content provides excellent resistance in chloride-containing environments and caustic alkalis (such as sodium hydroxide).
Intergranular Corrosion Resistance: Stabilization through the addition of titanium and controlled carbon content ensures excellent intergranular corrosion resistance even after welding or sensitization temperature ranges.
Mechanical Properties: Good strength and toughness at both room and elevated temperatures.
Weldability: Can be welded by conventional welding methods (such as TIG, MIG, arc welding), and usually no heat treatment is required after welding (unless used in harsh corrosive environments).
