N08028 (Alloy 28) is a high-performance nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum-copper alloy, renowned for its outstanding corrosion resistance, especially in harsh acidic environments (such as sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid) and chloride-containing environments.
N08028 (28th alloy) performs exceptionally well in medium to high concentration environments of sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid.
It possesses excellent resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
It also has good mechanical properties, machinability and weldability.
Compared with pure nickel or alloys with higher molybdenum content (such as C-276 and C-22), its cost is competitive.
It plays a crucial role in harsh corrosion environments such as those in the chemical, petrochemical, environmental protection (flue gas desulfurization), and oil and gas production industries, and is the preferred alloy for addressing sulfuric acid corrosion issues.
