G30 alloy (UNS N06030, also known as Hastelloy G-30®) is a high-performance nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum-copper alloy designed for resistance to strong oxidizing acid environments, particularly hot concentrated acids containing halides. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in wet-process phosphoric acid, mixed acids (such as nitric/hydrofluoric acid), and strong acid environments contaminated by impurities.
Hastelloy G-30 (UNS N06030) is a nickel-based alloy optimized to address the severe corrosion challenges posed by strong oxidizing acids, particularly hot concentrated phosphoric acid and mixed acids containing halide impurities. Its high chromium content is its core advantage. It is a key corrosion-resistant material choice in the wet-process phosphoric acid industry. When selecting Hastelloy G-30, the performance data of the alloy should be compared with that of alloys such as G-3, C-276, and 625, based on the specific operating conditions, including the composition, concentration, temperature, pressure, and presence of crevice or erosion. While Hastelloy G-30 offers relatively good weldability and machinability, it is more expensive than stainless steel and G-3 alloy.
