Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium-based precipitation-hardening type high-temperature alloy that is resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. It is one of the most widely used high-temperature alloys, especially suitable for harsh environments where high requirements are placed on strength, machinability, and weldability.
Inconel 718 (N07718) is an all-round engineering material that possesses outstanding characteristics such as high strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, machinability, and weldability. It plays a crucial role in aerospace propulsion systems, oil and gas exploration, energy production, and other industrial components that require reliability in extreme environments. Its excellent weldability and relatively good machinability make it an ideal choice for complex components and additive manufacturing. Although it has limitations at extremely high temperatures, within its applicable temperature range (especially ≤ 650°C), 718 remains an undisputed star material.
